What Will a Flowmaster 40 sound like on my pickup?
I have a 200 Ford F-150 sport XL. It has a 4.2 L v6 engine in it. I dont really wanna spend time and money putting straights on it so what would it sound like if i took the stock muffler out and replaced it with a Flowmaster 40. And then took the pipe out in front of my rear tire? It will still be a single pipe with just one exhaust.
Considering its only a v6, you will not get the full ROAR of a v8. You will have a slight rumbling sound that might sound kinda "ricey". The v6 will not give the flowmaster its full compression and be rather quiet. I know the sound your looking for, but i dont think you will get it considering that the 40's are made to put on v8's. My buddy put a Flowmaster 40 on his 4.0 v6 mustang and it ended up sounding like a ricer, your engine is a little bigger, but still not a v8. It may give a little more "rumble" but wont put out that distinct throaty sound of a v8.
