Hi all, I have a BMW 318 which has what I would call the baby engine. It is a 1.9 8v and runs 118 bhp. The previous owner to me put the BMW mv2 18" wheels on so now it is even slower. My question is can I strap a turbo on there to give it more power and if so what would I have to change? Ie clutch gearbox etc? Would it be easier to change the engine for a 320 or a 328 and if I did what would I need to change on this? Would I need to change instrument cluster for both of these ideas also?

You can strap once to it but it'll blow in a week unless you go down the low compression forged route which will cost 1000's. Much easier to transplant, nicer to drive an n/a anyway!
